Kundalini Yoga is a technology that weaves together pranayama (breathwork), kriyas (movement), and mantra (chanting). It is also known as the yoga of awareness — a practice of noticing what you think, feel, and do, and the energy underneath it.

Practically, it is three tools, each powerful enough to stand alone, rolled into one complete method — one that works on many levels.

Pranayama shifts your nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into rest. At the same time it moves the prana (life force) through your chakras — the current that runs beneath your thoughts and moods and animates everything else. The kriyas work the nervous and glandular systems to help release what the body has been holding. Mantra tones the vagus nerve and quiets mental chatter through rhythm and vibration, while the sound itself carries something older and more powerful than explanation.

There is a layer of the effects you can chart, and another you can only experience. Both are important, and both are why people who find this practice and build a real relationship with it rarely ever leave it.

  • All levels are welcome — no experience needed.

  • Dress in comfortable clothes that allow movement.

  • Bring water and anything else you need for your comfort.

  • Triangle Healing Center has yoga mats and back jacks.
